I cannot scan my new (chip-enabled) ID card using NFC. What should I do?
If you encounter an error while scanning your ID card;
• Ensure that you have entered your ID information correctly.
• Ensure that you do not move the ID card or the device during scanning.
• Ensure that you are verifying with the ID card of the e-Government Portal account holder who initiated the process.
• The NFC detection area of devices may vary depending on the brand and model. For this reason, you can try again by touching your ID card to different areas on the back of the device, in the middle and upper sections.
• If you are still unable to scan successfully after performing the above steps and you think there is a problem with your chip-enabled ID card, please contact the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs.
